Day 5:Walmart
It was another early start. We got Bailor down to the buffet and took him around to survey all the food and tried to pick out some things he may eat.
We got some noodles and watermelon down him, but we found his favorite thing was eggs!
After breakfast we all loaded up to go back to the government center and finalize the paperwork. There is a 24 hour period they wait to make the adoption final in case there are any issues, but there rarely are.
After everything was signed and thumb printed we headed off to do some
more shopping. We were looking for a Walmart, but tried some other shops
instead. We found some additional shoes and pants for Bailor so we
could clothe him for at least a week.
When we got back to the hotel we decided to try swimming. We had to wear swim caps so prepare for some awesome pictures. Needless to say, Bailor didn’t like the swim cap and it kind of squeezed his forehead, but he endured it. Although he didn’t like the pool at first a few games later we had him laughing and giggling with delight.

Not ones to be told we couldn’t go to Walmart and given the success of taking Bailor out at night to see the sights we identified where one would be and took the train a few stops away and, after some searching around, there was Walmart! It may sound unadventurous to go to Walmart, but it’s a little different. Lots of live fish options and a multifloor system. We were mainly in search of cups Bailor would accept and snacks that resembled ones he might eat. We made it to the register with a few packs of the crackers he came with which we realized were called Spirit Biscuits and sweet buns that are hand held and kind of like cakes. What we didn’t realize is that all these little items we had found throughout the store and had a lot of were all by weight and had to be weighed and tagged before we got to the register. So Mackenzie proceeded to purchase the items that weren’t while I went to find someone to tag the other ones. I found this was a little bit more of an adventure than I thought when I slowly found that each item had to be weighed and tagged by an employee at a weight station in the specific section of the store where that item came from. All items finally weighed up and heading to the register the original cashier had mercy on me and let me come to the front of the line. Later Mackenzie told me he had asked mutiple times if she wanted to send someone to go look for her husband. :-)
We got some food at a dumpling shop along with a green tea ice pop (something I grew to love and very refreshing ) we headed back via the train.
