Bailor is Two!

Bailor recently celebrated his second birthday! We were excited to be able to send him a cake party and a few gifts. He look so much different than the last set of photos! He looks like he is doing well and this just gets us more motivated to bring him home as soon as possible. So say a prayer that our paperwork goes through quickly and that it doesn't get held up during Chinese New Year.

Lot's of you are asking, how long until you head to China? Well here's just a peek into our process and what the timeline looks like:

Lifeline Adoption Checklist

The average time line for a China Medical Special Needs adoption is 12-15 months. The listing below serves as an estimate to the time line. Please know this time line is subject to change at any point and is family situation specific.

__X_____Home study completed (3-4 months).
__X_____I-800a application submitted with finalized home study to USCIS
_______Immigration approval received from USCIS. (Approximately 2-3 months).
_______Dossier documents certified/authenticated. (Approximately 3 weeks)
_______Dossier sent to China (DTC)
_______Log-in date received (LID) from CCCWA (Approximately 3-4 weeks after DTC)
__X__Matching. This will vary depending on the child that you match with. Families who have pre-identified a child through a Special Focus program will begin waiting for LOA from the time of LID. Most families will log in prior to matching. At this time, families who match with older children (3+ years), children with more moderate medical special needs, or boys can expect to wait 1-4 months for a referral at this time. Families who will match with young girls with minor medical special needs will wait 6-12 months.
_______Letter of Acceptance (LOA) received from China (Approximately 3 months after LID or PA, whichever comes later).
_______800 paperwork submitted to USCIS.
_______800 provisional approval received. (Approximately 3 weeks after submission) _______Information for visa sent by USCIS to National Visa Center. (NVC)
_______Information for visa cabled to the US Embassy in GZ by the NVC. (Approximately. 2 weeks after information sent by NBC to NVC)
________Article 5 letter received. (Approximately 2 weeks from cabling)
_______Article 5 letter couriered to the CCCWA.
_______Travel Approval received from CCCWA (approx. 3-4 weeks from being received by CCCWA)
_______Apply for Consulate Appointment
_______Receive Consulate Appointment (Approximately 2 business days after application) _______Travel (approximately 2 weeks after receiving TA)

So basically, a long road to travel but it is so wonderful to already have been matched with sweet Bailor!
